The Problem
A business acquisition advisory firm had analysts spending 40+ hours a week manually browsing BizBuySell, copying financials into spreadsheets, and trying to spot undervalued listings before competitors did. They were missing deals constantly. A strong listing at $800K asking on $280K cash flow would appear, get flooded with inquiries, and go under LOI before the team had even seen it.
Our Approach
Three layers. First, a scraper that pulls 30+ fields from every BizBuySell listing: asking price, cash flow, EBITDA, location, broker details, real estate status, and the business description. It handles Cloudflare, runs on configurable schedules, and deduplicates across runs. Second, an ML scoring layer that ranks listings by valuation attractiveness, flags underpriced businesses, and classifies growth potential using NLP on business descriptions. Third, an alert and dashboard layer that matches listings against client criteria, pushes Slack notifications when a qualifying listing appears, and gives analysts a web interface for filtering and exporting the full dataset.
